The beautiful Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy. Located in the Valle d’Aosta / Piemonte regions at the border with France, it can be accessed both ways. For this walk, I went up the ‘Piemontese way’ through the Valle Orco that ends in Ceresole Reale – Col del Nivolet. The amazing landscape and the pretty much absence of ‘modern life noises’, it makes you feel really close to nature.
Been a National Park also means that it is constantly monitored to help the wild animals survive and to prevent hunting. You realise the great job guardians do as, if you move quietly and respectful, you can get real close to the animals without disturbing them too much or to cause them being scared of you.
