The Waller Pain is an annual hill climbing race held in Catherham, Surrey UK. It’s a very steep road, Waller Lane, which is only about 500mt long but it’s very challenging to cyclists with it’s maximun gradient and slightly uneven and often damp surface.
This year’s edition has a new sponsor, Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance, which has brought a lot of interest and enthusiasm to the event.
The atmosphere is great as you can see pro/semi pro riders cycling alongside amateurs and families with children.
Catherham is a great little town divided in two: Catherham on the Hill and Catherham Valley, situated south of London and amongst the Hills of Surrey.
For a good beer after the event..lovely British pubs can be found in town..
